What does your day look like day to day?: I start my day by checking my emails. Each day is different depending on the phone calls I receive and where that leads me. I can take a routine call where somebody is enquiring about our services and then wishes to book an appointment, or it could be a client informing me a loved one has passed away and they are enquiring about the Probate process and how they go about collecting the original Will etc.
What do you love most about your role?: I enjoy my day to day role but particularly like meeting the clients we visit for Will signings in their homes. I've usually already built up a mental image having spoken to the clients over the phone. When we visit I'm sometimes pleasantly surprised and relieved at their circumstances. I find it fascinating to hear about their interesting and varied lives.
What is your favourite career highlight/moment so far?: Not sure if it's a highlight but I do remember dealing with a client (about 30 years ago) who had come into the office one lunchtime and nobody else was about. I remained friendly and polite but was secretly wishing he would wrap the conversation up and leave so I could get back to my sandwich. I didn't realise who he was until that evening whilst watching Top of the Pops — he was the lead singer in a famous band.
Fun fact about yourself?: I love to dance!
What you like doing away from work?: I love to read, go to the theatre and cinema, get away on holiday with my family, eating out and long walks.
